Uopgraing to Vista? Think Mac.

Mac
Yesterday I recieved an e-mail from Apple (Well, I’m signed up with them):
It’s time to get a Mac. If you’re thinking of upgrading to Vista, you’ll probably need a new computer. Why not get a Mac? It’s simpler, more secure, and way more fun. And it works with the stuff you already have, like printers and cameras. So before you upgrade anything, you owe it to yourself to check out a Mac.

Well, I know that Vista will be another messy OS, better than XP, but still messy. Despite this I personally recommend this scenario (Getting a Mac instead of upgrading to Vista!) to basic users only. What I mean of basic users are people who use a computer for sufing, e-mail, and entertainment. For that stuff Mac is just perfect. My wife has a Macbook and she enjoys it. But for absoulte freedom you woul never consiedre a Mac (correct me if I’m wrong). You better grab a PC (even assmble it by yourself) get Windows and your favrorite GNU/Linux distro(s) installed and conquere the universe!

If you want to pay for software, you have more options in Windows than Mac an for free software who thinks GNU/Linux comes second?! I’m not getting into the particular cases (like Graphics) which Mac could come first. In general you get very limited with Mac, even ore limite than Winows.

Mac/OS X has been derived from FreeBSD. But it is properity an very restricted. It’s very good if you just use your computer. But what if you want to abuse your computer?!

iPods, and Intel based Macs may saved Apple’s butt but globalization an freedom is not soething that I (with my limited point of view) see in it.

I’ve got a MacBook Pro, and I am a serious system abuser. You can run whatever you want on your macbook, even to the point of completely removing OS X if you want. I can run Windows XP and any linux I want. The only downside is the limitation to 3 partitions on the internal drive, but that is fine for a triple boot of OS X, Win XP, & GNU/Linux. Their is no major difference between an intel mac and a standard x86 PC. I’d advise anyone who is looking to buy a laptop to get a mac, they are just awsome!
