Upgrade from Ubuntu Dapper 6 to Edgy Eft 6.1
I bet you need to to upgrade from Dapper to Edgy.
Here’s how it works (or better said, how it should work!):In terminal type:
gksu “update-manager -c -d”
The “-c” switch instructs Update Manager to look for upgrades at all and “-d” checks if upgrading to the latest devel release is possible. By default the 6.06 LTS release will not offer that automatically because of its long support cycle and high stability.
If you have a working network connection, it should then inform you about a new release and offer to upgrade your system.
If the upgrade is performed on a system without update-manager (e.g. on a server). The upgrade must be done in two steps. The first run of apt-get dist-upgrade will upgrade everything except for upstart. After this a second apt-get dist-upgrade will finish the upgrade.

Unrelated, thanks for visiting Right Truth and letting me know I left the “A” off Ahmadinejad’s name in the first paragraph of my post. Just a slip of the fingers on the keyboard, but I have corrected it.
Come back and visit again.
I’m always looking for technical advice, so I will read some of your articles. I love blogging but I’m not technical at all.
